About this tool
A 2 MB limit is common for photo uploads on social and government portals. Most recent phone photos are bigger than that, but only a modest reduction is needed. Choose your photo and this tool finds the highest quality that still fits under 2 MB.
How to use it
- Choose your photo.
- Check that the target size says 2048 KB.
- Press Resize & Compress.
- Download the file and use it on your form.
Fitting a phone photo under 2 MB
Phone photos are often 2 to 6 MB. A small reduction in pixels is usually enough to get under 2 MB while the picture stays sharp on screen.
The tool keeps the quality high and lowers the pixels only as much as needed. You can also set the width and height yourself if you want to control the size.
Common questions
Will the file be exactly 2 MB?
It will be 2 MB or a little smaller. The tool picks the best quality that stays under the limit.
The result is still too big or too blurry. What now?
Lower the width and height by about a third and try again.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is processed inside your browser and never leaves your device.
Why is the target shown as 2048 KB?
Because 1 MB is 1024 KB, so 2 MB is 2048 KB. The tool works in KB.
