About this tool
4 by 6 inches is the standard size for printed photos. This tool resizes your picture to 1200 by 1800 pixels, which prints sharply at 300 DPI.
How to use it
- Choose a clear, front-facing photo.
- Check the width, height and unit. Change them if your form asks for something else.
- Leave the fit on Fill the frame, or choose Fit inside to avoid cropping.
- Press Resize Image and download.
Getting a photo ready to print at 4 by 6
Photo shops and home printers use 4 by 6 inches a lot. Matching your picture to that shape before you print avoids surprise cropping at the shop.
A phone photo is often a different shape, so check the preview. If a face or text is near the edge, use Fit inside, which adds white borders instead of trimming the picture.
